How does astrology help us?

Astrology is not a tool for predicting the future or determining destiny in a fatalistic sense, but rather a spiritual science of the relationship and reflection between the Cosmos (Macrocosm) and the human beeing (Microcosm).

We can rightly criticize the immature approach to astrology as a remnant of ancient knowledge that has degenerated into superstition.

Astrology facilitates self-reflection through symbols and metaphors.

By projecting our traits—including our flaws—outward (symbolic externalization), astrology provides a safe distance for the ego. By projecting outward (at least in an initial phase, necessary for human beings who still identify with the ego—which is pretty much all of us), it’s easier to accept that you have certain flaws you need to work on. It’s easier to say, “I have this astrological aspect that makes me a control freak,” than to say, “I am a control freak.”

The fact that the stars communicate to you—in a symbolic, silent, and impersonal language—the issues you need to resolve makes you less defensive. It is much easier to accept that you have a problem than if, for example, your partner were to point out (in a tone that’s hard to swallow) that you are jealous or obsessed with control.

According to C.G. Jung, astrology is the sum of all psychological knowledge from antiquity. Its true purpose is to serve as a tool through which we can better understand ourselves and transform and evolve.

If we accept astrology as an authentic psychological system, then another benefit of it is the efficiency, conciseness, and speed with which it leads us toward self-knowledge, toward understanding our inner reality—a reality that otherwise, for the vast majority of people, remains shrouded in the darkness of ignorance.

Astrology provides our inner reality with a framework that helps us understand and organize our inner universe.

We quickly come to understand that we possess certain functions of consciousness—soul faculties (thinking, feeling, will, etc.)—which thus become increasingly clear to us. We begin to ask ourselves questions and find answers to questions about ourselves, our way of being, our deep motivations, and even if these answers may seem mechanical at first glance (due to symbolic language), the simple act of asking ourselves questions, of engaging in the inner introspection for which we now have a framework, a structure, helps us step off the autopilot we were on until then, off the track of our automatic reactions, and forge our own new paths of destiny. It makes us see that we have a choice, that we have free will.

The Value System of Astrology

From an ethical, moral, and spiritual perspective, astrology is grounded in a system of universal values, free from the influence of religious dogmas that have been distorted and, over time, tainted by the harmful effects of limited, subjective, and arrogant interpretations.

Astrology is based on fundamental truths and universal laws such as: The Law of Karma, archetypes, and Universal Divine Attributes such as Love, Freedom, Firmness, Heroism, Order and many others —which are objective energies with a constant vibrational frequency, true building blocks through which all higher experiences of human consciousness can be defined and understood.

Astrology will never claim that you can harm someone because your religion tells you that other people are inferior, that you are among the “chosen ones” regardless of how you live your life.

It also reminds you that sooner or later, you will reap what you sow.

Astrology takes into account the resonance (higher or lower) of every function of your consciousness, of every spiritual faculty. Thus, it cannot judge someone as good or bad based solely on astrological aspects. Regardless of their position, we are the ones responsible for how we choose to manifest those functions—in their mature, higher aspect or in their immature, unconscious, lower aspect.

Astrology points out your strengths, the areas where you have lessons to learn, what you have committed to accomplishing in this life, and makes you solely responsible for how you will achieve this.
